Q's Billiard Club has been a staple of Brentwood/Santa Monica nightlife for over 30 years. We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Bartender/Manager to join our team In this dynamic role, you will be the face of our establishment during daytime hours, delivering exceptional customer service while managing bar operations efficiently. The ideal candidate is an organized self-starter, someone who can multi-task while maintaining guest-focused service at all times. This position offers a balanced blend bartending and table-service expertise with managerial responsibilities, all while maintaining a focus on food safety, sales, and hospitality excellence.

Duties

  • Prepare and serve a variety of beverages with precision and flair, ensuring consistency and quality in every drink
  • Manage day-to-day bar operations, including inventory control, cash handling, and POS transactions using Toast (familiarity with Toast is preferred)
  • Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with guests, taking orders, and addressing any concerns promptly and professionally
  • Oversee food handling and serving.
  • Organizing day-to-night transitions.
  • Lead the team during shifts by coordinating tasks, managing time effectively, and ensuring smooth service flow
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area in compliance with health regulations and food safety protocols.

Experience

  • Proven experience in food service or hospitality roles, particularly in gastropub, sports bar, or nightclub settings
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities through effective time management and organizational skills
  • Strong background in sales techniques and customer service excellence within the food industry
  • Familiarity with Toast (POS)
  • Experience with cash handling, cashiering, retail math, and basic math skills necessary for accurate transactions
  • Knowledge of food safety practices, food handling procedures, and beverage preparation standards
  • Previous supervisory or managerial experience preferred to lead shifts confidently and motivate team members
  • Day (11am to 8pm) and holiday availability is required.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24.0 – 30.0 per week
