Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Control Engineer to design, develop, and implement control systems to improve manufacturing, automation, or industrial processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation, PLC programming, instrumentation, electrical trouble shooting, and a passion for solving complex engineering problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop control systems for automated equipment and processes.
- Program PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMIs, and SCADA systems.
- Create and interpret electrical schematics and control panel layouts.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, and other instrumentation into control systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues on the plant floor or during commissioning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.
- Support installation, commissioning, and testing of control systems.
- Maintain documentation, including control logic, diagrams, and project reports.
- Ensure systems comply with safety and regulatory standards. (e.g., OSHA, NEC, IEC)
- Continuously optimize control systems to improve performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Confidently demonstrate strong electrical trouble shooting ability.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in industrial automation or control systems design.
- Proficiency in PLC programming ( Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
- Experience with robotics or motion control systems preferred.
- Experience with HMI/SCADA software (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, Factory Talk).
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, Etc.).
- Knowledge of PID control, motor control, VFDs, and instrumentation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Work Environment:
- May be required to travel within a 5 mile radius to various plant locations.
- Will be required to work in areas that have fiber glass.
