We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated CNA/PRN Restorative to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing high-quality restorative nursing care to patients across various settings, including long-term care, assisted living, memory care, and post-acute environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient care, medical documentation, and specialized skills such as medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and the use of EMR/EHR systems. This position offers flexible scheduling as needed (PRN) and plays a vital role in supporting patient recovery and maintaining their quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized restorative nursing interventions aimed at improving or maintaining patient functional abilities.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, mobility assistance, and catheter care.
- Monitor and document vital signs, patient responses, and progress using electronic health record systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks.
- Administer medications and treatments following HIPAA guidelines and aseptic techniques.
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to assist with patient transfers.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with complex needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, or behavioral health conditions.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding care plans and health management.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, including infectious disease care procedures, especially in acute or ICU settings.
- Support patients across diverse environments including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, home care visits, or community-based programs.
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification with current licensure in good standing.
- Experience working in various healthcare settings such as hospitals (Level I Trauma Center, ICU), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks is desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical procedures such as phlebotomy or catheter care.
- Experience caring for patients with complex conditions including Alzheimer's/dementia care, behavioral health issues, or post-surgical recovery.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high standard of patient-centered care.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations including pediatrics and geriatrics.
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are preferred.
