Summary
The sales representative is responsible for overseeing the sale of products or services from beginning to end and responsible for generating leads and meeting sales goals. Duties will include sales presentations and product demonstrations, as well as negotiating contracts with potential clients. This individual is the direct point of contact with a customer and in charge of ensuring a customer's needs and expectations are met.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains and expands key customer accounts in Texas and other assigned territories; building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities.
- Recommends product opportunities, and/or product, packaging, and service changes; surveying consumer needs and trends; tracking competitors.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
- Accomplishes sales and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Utilization of CRM for daily activities and reporting purposes.
- Attend trade shows as required.
- Schedules stock units for demo in territory.
- Accomplishes sales and organization mission by maintaining unit, revenue and profit goals.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- An industrial sales territory is described as being all non-municipal, city, county, or parish fire, police, security, and emergency medical response organizations. Industrial customers include all emergency response brigades for companies that are privately owned or publicly traded.
- The Texas Territory will include customer accounts as assigned. This may also extend to additional areas based on business needs.
- Additional customers/potential customers outside of the Texas Territory may be assigned to the sales representative by the Director of Sales – Industrial Apparatus Services. These assignments will be mutually agreed upon and will be documented.
- An Industrial Product Specialist will actively promote the services offered by Industrial Apparatus Services with the understanding that outstanding customer service helps us sell our products. Service is at the very core of our industrial business success.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- Proven ability to leverage an established network within the industrial sector, specifically in the area of safety and / or fire and emergency services.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate/negotiate with internal and external customers.
- Excellent computer proficiency (Pierce Pulse, MS Office Products).
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Strategy development, project management, problem solving, and change management skills.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
- Wide degree of creativity and latitude expected.
- Strong leadership skills.
- This is a full-time position.
Education and/or Experience
- A bachelor's degree or associate degree in business, marketing, or related area preferred, and/or at least 2 years of sales experience in the field.
- High School Diploma or GED
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to walk stairs and/or climb ladders. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
