Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance as instructed by the Helpdesk team including fault finding, testing, repair, and preventive maintenance of electrical building services equipment.
Ensure routine maintenance of all building plant, equipment and systems meets or exceeds expectations and agreed service level agreements.
Work on single and three-phase systems, fire alarm testing, lighting and power, UPS systems and other electrical duties.
Produce detailed technical quotations, including correct parts and labour times to ensure profitability, cost control and client satisfaction.
Maintain strict compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
Keep detailed records of all maintenance work performed.
Escalate issues to Supervisor or Contract Manager immediately.
Collaborate effectively with a skilled team to achieve client objectives.
Liaise with specialist sub-contractors and engineers from other disciplines to ensure efficient operation of the plant/area without disruption to the client.
Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota and attend emergency repair works as required.
Skills and Experience
Experience working on single and three-phase systems, fire alarm testing, lighting and power, UPS systems and other electrical duties.
Sound fault‑finding skills on all forms of electrical plant/systems.
Outstanding communication and teamwork capabilities.
Demonstrated expertise in commercial facilities maintenance.
Exceptional problem‑solving skills and strong attention to detail.
Ability to operate SMART devices and complete electronic documentation.
Strong fault‑finding experience essential; expected to work on traditional plant equipment as well as modern systems.
Carry out work in a safe and diligent manner.
Specific Qualifications
City & Guilds - Electrical Installation / Maintenance or equivalent.
City & Guilds 2382 18th Edition IEE.
2391 Inspection and Testing would be advantageous.
Time‑served apprenticeship or equivalent training.
Demonstrable knowledge of building services engineering.
Testing and Inspection certification desired.
Clear understanding of Electricity at Work safe working practices.
Knowledge and experience of BMS, generator, control, lighting systems, and ACOPS L8.
Due to the nature of the contract, you will need to go through contract specific vetting – DBS, financial and employment background checks.
