Position Overview
Albizu University is seeking a qualified and student-centered Faculty Member for the Ph.D. in Human Services Program at the Miami Campus. This role involves teaching doctoral-level courses on-site, online, and hybrid formats; contributing to curriculum development; supporting scholarly activities; and fostering an enriching academic environment. The Faculty Member will uphold academic excellence, promote research and community engagement, support student learning and advising, and ensure compliance with institutional and accreditation standards in alignment with Albizu University's mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach and provide high-quality instruction in doctoral-level Human Services courses, ensuring strong student learning outcomes.
- Serve as an academic representative of the Human Services program within the University and externally when applicable.
- Develop, design, and teach engaging online and on-ground courses aligned with industry trends, community needs, and emerging practices in the field.
- Monitor and support student progress, retention, and achievement, providing academic guidance as needed.
- Maintain compliance with institutional policies and accreditation standards, including Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).
- Contribute to curriculum development, revision, and assessment to ensure academic rigor and relevance.
- Collaborate with program faculty to ensure courses reflect evidence-based practices, research developments, and innovative instructional methods.
- Participate in departmental, program-level, and university-wide meetings, committees, and accreditation activities.
- Mentor students by serving on Dissertation Committees and supporting doctoral research activities.
- Engage in scholarly work, including research, publications, presentations, and professional service.
- Support program planning, assessment, and institutional initiatives as needed.
- Maintain scheduled office hours and provide academic advising and mentoring to students.
- Assist with maintaining program records and contributing to operational processes as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Academic Affairs.
Requirements
- Doctorate (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Human Services or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Experience teaching at the graduate level, preferably within doctoral programs.
- Demonstrated scholarship, including publications, presentations, or contributions to the field of Human Services.
- Experience with curriculum development, academic assessment, and research mentoring.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to academic excellence, student-centered learning, and community engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience serving on dissertation committees or mentoring doctoral research.
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish).
- Experience with online or hybrid teaching modalities.
- Knowledge of culturally responsive and inclusive teaching practices.
