Capital Tire is looking for a Field Sales Representative to cover territory in the Western Michigan area.
Capital Tire is a family-owned Tire Distributor that has been in business since 1919 Field Sales Representatives are responsible for promoting, selling and creating new business in their given territory. This person will be responsible for understanding all product lines and full leveraging manufacturer loyalty programs in order to best serve the customers.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains positive and productive relationships with customers by providing quality customer service.
- Manages and maintains client accounts to ensure up-to-date contacts, details and promotional activities.
- Generates new business by following up on potential sales leads and closes sales as they come up.
- Maintains knowledge of company products in order to identify and suggest products to customers to meet their needs.
- Maintains communication with existing and previous customers of any pricing change, marketing or promotional information and new products that may be of interest to them.
- Researches and resolves conflicts to provide customers with solutions.
- Communicates with Customer Service team to ensure accurate completion of sales process.
- Reviews customer month end numbers to help them achieve their tire quotas.
- Maintains all sales activities via Salesforce, our CRM website.
- Assists car dealers on how to use Ford/Chrysler/GM tire sales tool.
- Achieves established sales goals.
- Travels throughout territory to visit customers on a recurring basis to maintain and expand client database.
- Communicates with Accounting for establishing credit terms for new customers and negotiating any collection problems as they arise.
- Attends industry tradeshows to identify potential sales leads and make meaningful contact with existing customers.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Qualifications Required:
- Ability to communicate accurately and professionally with others
- Effective interpersonal communication skills
- Attention to detail with the ability to organize & prioritize projects
- Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrates good reasoning, logic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to research, understand and process information easily
- Able to work independently
- Be flexible, able to work with little supervision, be a self-starter yet able to work on a team, and take pride in completing assignments achieving a positive outcome for the customer
- Be of excellent moral character, trustworthy and reliable
- Demonstrates ability to deal with customers
- Ability to travel as required (occasional overnights)
- Maintains valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Education and Experience:
- Tire industry knowledge is helpful, but not required
- Bachelors degree in Sales, Marketing or Business (or related field)
AND
- 2 years of related experience in sales, marketing, business and/or operations
OR
- 5 years related experience in sales, marketing, business and/or operations
Total compensation, including commission, about $75k or more depending on experience
