POSITION PURPOSE

This position is responsible for overseeing and directing all activities of the retail store, located within the Kansas Humane Society facility, appropriate to the effective and efficient management of the store including: (1) coordination of store operational details and trends to ensure maximum profitability; (2) maintaining effective inventory systems and expense and theft control; (3) tracking, ordering, pricing and displaying merchandise; (4) training and support of one staff person and volunteers; and (5) ensuring excellent customer service is provided.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Customer Service:  Provide and model timely, polite, and respectful internal and external customer service regardless of the circumstances. Must remain calm, flexible, and willing to see other perspectives. Provide recognition and support to both staff and volunteers for their individual contributions. Assure that every individual who enters the Kansas Humane Society is recognized and treated as a potential donor.

Operations: Oversee and direct all activities in daily operations of the store. Fully utilize all aspects of QuickBooks software to:
Process sales and sales tax, track inventory and re-ordering points, and assess product sales.

Compile daily, weekly and monthly reports.

Provide critical assessment of product sales, profit and expenses.

Oversee inventory, organization, and display of merchandise, including weekly ordering, receiving verification and stocking.
