Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to provide comprehensive technical support and troubleshooting for our organization's computer systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining hardware and software, resolving user issues, and ensuring optimal performance across various operating systems and network environments. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic IT support team, contributing to the seamless operation of our IT infrastructure and enhancing user productivity.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software problems across operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Manage computer hardware components, peripherals, mobile devices, and ensure proper configuration.
- Support and maintain Microsoft Office applications, Active Directory, DNS, TCP/IP configurations, VPNs, firewalls, and LAN/WAN networks.
- Assist with computer management tasks using tools such as SCCM and BMC Remedy.
- Perform system updates, patches, and security configurations to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
- Monitor IT infrastructure health using ServiceNow, Jira, and other management tools; escalate issues as needed.
- Support the deployment of new hardware/software and assist in user onboarding processes.
- Document technical procedures and solutions to build a knowledge base for ongoing support needs.
- Collaborate with network administration teams to troubleshoot network connectivity issues including TCP/IP protocols.
Skills
- Strong technical support skills with experience in software troubleshooting and hardware management.
- Proficiency in operating systems including Windows (Windows Server), macOS, and Linux environments.
- Knowledge of computer networking concepts such as LAN, TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and network security protocols.
- Experience with Active Directory management, Microsoft Office Suite, SCCM, BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, Jira for ticketing and incident tracking.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure components including servers (Microsoft Windows Server), network devices, mobile devices, and operating systems.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Ability to analyze technical issues efficiently and implement effective solutions promptly.
- Understanding of network administration tasks such as TCP/UDP protocols and network security measures. This position is integral to maintaining the stability of our IT environment while providing exceptional support to our users. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for technology support excellence.
Pay: $ $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
