Fargo, ND – Full Time

Productive Resources ) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team for our customer's facility in Fargo, ND. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will perform instrumented tests using existing procedures to verify that system performance meets product specifications. Support assigned product groups in product validation and verification process associated with production requirements. Provide problem identification and resolution, corrective action and tracking and reliability analysis. Provide input on test procedures to engineers and support personnel as required.

This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization.

Duties:

  • Perform inspection, testing, and failure analysis as necessary to determine cause of defective electronic assemblies.
  • Research, gather and summarize data for use in determining root cause.
  • Rework products per company and industry standards.
  • Build test harnesses, loads, fixtures and/or circuit boards to support product design as required.
  • Document and maintain records relating to work performed.
  • Inform supervisor and engineering of process or design problems and assist in corrective actions.
  • Conduct manual test of electronic circuits and PCBs according to engineering instructions.
  • Communicate with both internal and external customers in a professional and effective manner.
  • Create or update test documentation when required for prototype products.
  • Design and build advanced engineering test boxes.
  • Perform other associated tasks as required from their supervisor and engineers.
  • Train other personnel as required.

Requirements:

  • A.S. in Electronics or a two-year technical diploma, equivalent military certification, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum one year of experience in electronics, manufacturing, engineering, or a related industry; three or more years of related experience is preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting PCB subassembly failure modes to identify root cause.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and electronic components.
  • Understanding of test equipment and methods (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.).
  • Ability to read engineering documents, e.g., schematics or diagrams.
  • Ability to comprehend product/process component datasheets.
  • Ability to assemble and disassemble products.
  • Ability to maintain and repair lab equipment.
  • Ability to learn advanced computer applications.
  • Ability to research, tabulate, and summarize data.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers, spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
