Server/Bartender

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bartender to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mixology and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, serving drinks, and ensuring that all patrons have an enjoyable experience. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

About Us

Rappahannock Oyster Company was founded in 1899 and launched Rappahannock Restaurant Group to showcase the work of local farmers and fisherman while educating our guests on "good food, grown well." Our Charleston location is our largest and offers an incredible abundance of local seafood and produce. Our group currently has 5 restaurants across several states including: two locations in Virginia, Washington D.C, and Los Angeles. We have three farms where we receive our house oysters ranging in complexity, as well as rotating guest oysters from nearby farms

Duties

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bar area, including washing glassware and utensils.
• Assist with bussing tables and ensuring the bar area is tidy and organized.
• Handle cash transactions accurately using a cash register or Aloha POS system.
• Engage with customers to provide excellent service, take drink orders, and offer recommendations.
• Monitor customer consumption of alcohol to ensure responsible service practices are followed.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food service when applicable, including food preparation as needed.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations while maintaining a safe environment for both staff and patrons.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a bartending or food service role is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with patrons.
• Knowledge of various drink recipes, mixology techniques, and beverage presentation is a plus.
• Familiarity with cash handling procedures and experience using cash registers or POS systems like Aloha is advantageous.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor are essential for success in this role.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay: $ $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
