Kitchen Prep Cook

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all ingredients are prepped and ready for meal service, contributing to the overall efficiency of the kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and chop ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications.
• Assist in meal preparation by cooking and assembling dishes as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items.
• Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all meals are prepared in a safe and sanitary environment.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives, mixers, and ovens, while adhering to safety protocols.
• Assist with catering events as needed, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards.

Experience

• Previous experience in food preparation or as a dietary aide is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices within the kitchen environment.
• Experience in menu planning or catering is a plus.
• Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques are highly desirable.
• A background in the food industry or culinary arts is advantageous for this role.
