Senior Project Engineer

The Opportunity:

The Solutions Team is seeking a Senior-Level Project Engineer with deep experience designing and executing complex IT infrastructure projects in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) setting. This is a client-facing, hands-on engineering role—not a remote or back-office support job.

When you're not on the road, you'll be working on-site at our Jackson, MS headquarters collaborating directly with our project and support teams. When you are on the road, you'll be deploying high-value IT infrastructure for clients nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead the design, implementation, and documentation of infrastructure and network projects.

· Deploy and configure network gear (firewalls, switches, wireless) from vendors.

· Lead Microsoft 365 and Azure migrations, hybrid cloud rollouts, and server replacements.

· Deliver hands-on engineering support for Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualized environments (VMWare/Hyper-V).

· Perform on-site physical work such as server installs, rack-and-stack, cabling, wireless surveys, and endpoint configuration.

· Serve as Tier 3 escalation for network and infrastructure challenges.

· Conduct solution assessments and clearly present recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.

· Mentor junior engineers and ensure clean project hand-offs.

· Stay ahead of trends in networking, security, cloud, and systems management.

Requirements & Experience:

· 10+ years of hands-on IT infrastructure experience, with at least 5 years in an MSP or consulting role.

· Deep knowledge of L2/L3 networking: VLANs, routing, switching, EtherChannel, STP, etc.

· Strong background in firewall configuration, including SonicWall, Fortinet, or Cisco ASA.

· Proven experience in Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Entra ID, and hybrid environments.

· Solid Windows Server & Active Directory knowledge, including DNS, DHCP, and GPO.

· Skilled with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and backup tools like Veeam.

· Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.

· Able to travel up to 50% across the U.S., some with short notice.

· Must be based in or willing to relocate to Jackson, MS (this is not a remote position).

· Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.

Bonus Points For:

· Experience with Azure networking, security frameworks, and infrastructure-as-code.

· Working knowledge of VoIP, SD-WAN, remote access VPNs.

· Industry certifications (CCNA/CCNP, Azure Admin, M365 Certified, etc.)
