Job Summary

The Batch Plant Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the concrete batch plant to ensure the efficient production of high-quality concrete. This role oversees batching operations, inventory, plant maintenance, safety compliance, and personnel management. This position plays a key role in working with dispatch, QC, and drivers to maintain timely delivery and meet production goals.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Production

  • Manage daily operation of the concrete batch plant, including batching and load-out.
  • Maintain batching and control systems to meet mix specifications and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure the plant runs safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels of materials and coordinate deliveries.

Leadership & Staff Support

  • Lead and support plant staff and drivers and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
  • Clearly communicate plant operations and expectations to staff.
  • Manage daily opening, closing, and security of the plant.

Coordination & Communication

  • Work closely with Dispatch and Quality Control teams to optimize deliveries.
  • Coordinate batching and ensure proper slumps/specifications.
  • Communicate regularly with operations and management teams.

Maintenance & Compliance

  • Ensure the plant meets all environmental and safety compliance requirements.
  • Plan regular plant maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of batching systems, concrete production, and materials.
  • Experience with concrete mix design, batching software, and plant equipment.
  • Ability to supervise employees and ensure safety procedures are followed.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, compliant work environment.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Work performed in both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Exposure to noise, machinery, and weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Safety & Compliance

All employees must follow company safety policies and comply with OSHA and environmental regulations at all times.

Compensation

Compensation based on education, experience, and qualifications. Final pay decisions are determined by the hiring manager following the interview process.

Reimbursements:

  • $100 safety boot reimbursement (annual – spring)
  • $120 prescription safety/anti-glare glasses reimbursement (annual)
  • $85 DOT physical reimbursement (every two years)
  • Mileage reimbursement at federal rate for business travel
