Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service, kitchen operations, and dietary support, with the ability to lead meal production and ensure consistently high-quality dining experiences. This role requires expertise in preparing and serving nutritious meals, adherence to all food safety and sanitation regulations, and the ability to assist in guiding junior kitchen staff. Candidates with fine dining, catering, or advanced culinary experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals in accordance with established menus, dietary guidelines, and nutritional requirements.
- Lead and support menu planning, ensuring meals accommodate dietary needs, preferences, and special requests.
- Ensure strict compliance with food handling, preparation, and storage standards.
- Execute advanced cooking techniques with strong attention to quality, flavor, and presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen, prep, and dining areas in alignment with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in coordinating and executing catering events, special functions, and large group meals.
- Utilize proper knife skills, portioning methods, and cooking procedures to ensure consistent results.
- Collaborate with the dietary team to meet resident or client nutritional requirements.
- Support inventory control, assist with ordering supplies, and monitor stock levels.
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to kitchen staff when needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cook, dietary aide, or similar food service role required; senior or lead cook experience preferred.
- Strong background in meal preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.
- Knowledge of menu planning, food safety guidelines, and sanitation practices.
- Proficiency in knife skills, food handling, and kitchen equipment operation.
- Experience in fine dining, catering, or high-volume food production is a strong advantage.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail in both food presentation and food safety.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high quality standards.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently or guiding junior team members.
Pay: $18.94 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
