We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in dental assisting, with experience in both general and pediatric dentistry. This role involves working closely with the dental team to provide high-quality patient care, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the clinic.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety standards.
- Manage patient records accurately, including medical documentation and medical coding.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Perform chairside assisting duties, including passing instruments and materials as needed.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for patient management and scheduling.
- Monitor vital signs and assist in the administration of anesthesia as required.
- Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures to effectively communicate with patients and staff.
- Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures, ensuring a comfortable environment for young patients.
Skills
- Proficient in using EMR systems (Dentrix, Eaglesoft) for efficient patient management.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and compliance.
- Familiarity with various dental specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.
- Experience in chairside assisting and understanding of four-handed dentistry concepts.
- Ability to perform medical imaging tasks using 3D scanners when necessary.
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols within a dental clinic setting.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, particularly in pediatric settings.
