We deliver timely, scalable, and evidence-based care in psychiatry and addiction medicine through innovative virtual solutions that expand access to those who need it most.

Since our launch, Frontier Psychiatry has grown rapidly while maintaining a deep commitment to our founding purpose — lifting the mental wellbeing of underserved populations. Our work is guided by healthcare's Quintuple Aim, which drives every decision we make:

  • Deliver excellent patient care.
  • Support the well-being of our team.
  • Lower the total cost of care.
  • Improve the population health of the communities we serve.
  • Advance health equity.

If you're passionate about meaningful work, innovation in behavioral health, and making a lasting difference in people's lives, we'd love for you to join our team.

About the Role:
The Therapist (LCPC or LCSW) provides high-quality mental health services through direct clinical care, crisis intervention, psychoeducation, and coordinated support with the broader care team. The role centers on short-term, targeted, evidence-based treatment, with responsibilities that include conducting diagnostic mental health assessments, developing and updating individualized treatment plans, and maintaining accurate, timely clinical documentation. Therapists in this role must be comfortable working within a specialty psychiatric clinic, which may include patients with serious mental illness (SMI) diagnoses. The Therapist upholds all ethical standards, legal requirements, and licensing regulations while delivering compassionate, effective care.

Special consideration will be given to applicants who are comfortable providing therapy to children, adolescents, and families.

What you'll do:
Mental Health Assessments:

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, including diagnostic formulation and clear diagnostic justification.
  • Utilize evidence-based assessment tools to support accuracy and clinical decision-making.

Therapeutic Interventions:

  • Provide short-term, targeted therapy across modalities (individual, family, couples, or group as appropriate).
  • Tailor interventions to patient goals while maintaining a clear therapeutic strategy and monitoring response to treatment.
  • Provide evidence based clinical interventions to patients across the lifespan using evidence-based approaches. Applicants willing to work with children, adolescents, and families will receive priority consideration.
  • Provide targeted education on coping skills, communication, stress management, and related topics.

Treatment Planning:

  • Develop and maintain personalized treatment plans based on patients' specific mental health needs, therapeutic goals, and institutional guidelines including SMART goal setting.

Crisis Intervention:

  • Conduct structured risk assessments and develop safety plans for acute distress or behavioral health crises.
  • Collaborate with the care team to ensure safe follow-up and continuity of care.

Case Management:

  • Work closely with medical, psychiatric, and behavioral health colleagues to support integrated care.
  • Assist patients with referrals and navigation of community resources when appropriate.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

  • Complete all documentation within organizational timeline standards.
  • Ensure notes are accurate, clinically sound, and compliant with billing, regulatory, and organizational standards.
  • Documentation of therapy work is timely, complete and meets compliance standards for billing encounters

Professional and Ethical Compliance:

  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and legal requirements related to patient confidentiality, informed consent, and mandatory reporting of harm to self or others.
  • Participate in weekly supervision, rounding, or case consultation as directed by LCSW lead.
  • Maintain flexibility in scheduling to help meet patient-access and program needs.
  • Maintain compliance with CEU and other regulatory requirements as required.
  • Be willing to obtain licensure in additional states as required to meet clinical need.

Education & Experience:

  • Master's degree from a CSWE or CACREP accredited institution.
  • Be independently licensed as an LCSW or LCPC in Montana, Idaho, or Alaska at the time of hire.
  • Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including short-term and targeted approaches.
  • Proficiency in remote care delivery, including secure telehealth platforms and electronic documentation systems.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment-planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with comfort working in a specialty psychiatric setting that may include higher-acuity needs and SMI diagnoses.
  • Experience working effectively with diverse populations, including adolescents, incarcerated individuals, and patients with co-occurring disorders.
  • Ability to maintain accurate, thorough, and timely clinical documentation
  • Flexibility and adaptability, including willingness to collaborate on workflow development, quality improvement, and clinic utilization initiatives.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical standards.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary care team.
