Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing nutritious meals and snacks tailored to the dietary needs of children in various age groups.
• Support menu planning by helping to organize ingredients and ensuring meal options meet nutritional guidelines.
• Prepare food items with proper knife skills, food handling techniques, and food safety standards to ensure quality and hygiene.
• Serve meals efficiently across different classrooms, maintaining a friendly and welcoming atmosphere during mealtimes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including dishwashing, sanitizing surfaces, and proper storage of ingredients.
• Support dietary department staff with food prep tasks, ensuring timely delivery of meals and snacks throughout the day.
• Follow all food safety protocols related to food handling, storage, and sanitation to ensure a safe environment for children.
• Assist with relief of classroom teacher for breaks out lunches as required.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and uphold high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in dietary aide roles or kitchen environments is highly preferred.
• Experience working in dietary departments or food service within childcare, healthcare, or restaurant settings is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, menu planning, and food safety practices.
• Demonstrated knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation for diverse dietary requirements.
• Familiarity with food handling regulations and sanitation standards in a professional setting.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
