About the Role
We're seeking a highly skilled
Senior HR Generalist
to support a fast-growing, multi-entity organization spanning real estate, commercial/retail, aviation, land development, and congregate living. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, works well with executive leadership, and can balance hands-on HR operations with strategic problem solving.
You'll serve as a key HR partner across all business units owning payroll, benefits, compliance, recruiting coordination, and employee relations while providing high-impact support to managers and staff.
What You'll Do
Payroll & HR Operations
- Process
bi-weekly & semi-monthly payroll
across
three entities
, utilizing ADP Workforce Now and GreenLeaf. - Manage payroll audits, reporting, timecard reviews, and adjustments to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain HRIS data, employee records, and documentation with a high level of detail.
Recruiting & Talent Support
- Manage job postings, job boards, candidate pipelines, and agency partnerships.
- Coordinate interview schedules and support hiring managers throughout the selection process.
- Facilitate new hire onboarding and New Employee Orientation.
Benefits & Compliance
- Administer health, welfare, and supplemental benefit programs.
- Reconcile monthly carrier invoices and support open enrollment.
- Track leaves of absence (PDL/CFRA/FMLA) and ensure timely communication and compliance.
Employee Relations & HR Guidance
- Provide HR policy interpretation and day-to-day support to employees and managers.
- Assist with employee relations matters, investigations, coaching, and performance support.
- Support training needs, culture initiatives, engagement, and retention strategies.
Cross-Department Collaboration
- Serve as a resource across multiple business groups with diverse operational needs.
- Exercise strong judgment when determining what to escalate, address independently, or resolve strategically.
- Assist with HR projects, reporting, and organizational initiatives as needed.
What We're Looking For
Required Skills & Experience
- 5–7 years of HR Generalist experience
, supporting payroll, benefits, recruiting, and compliance. - Strong expertise with
ADP Workforce Now
(required). - Experience processing multi-entity payroll cycles.
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).
- Solid knowledge of
California employment law
, including PDL/CFRA/FMLA, wage & hour, EEO, and compliance programs. - High level of emotional intelligence—able to read a room, communicate professionally, and adapt quickly.
- Proven ability to work with executives and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
Preferred
- Experience in
construction, real estate, property management
, or similar industries. - Experience supporting fast-growing or multi-entity organizations.
- Associate degree or higher in HR, Business, or related field.
