The network administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing Camino Real's IT infrastructure. Responsibilities also include the following:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers (Windows/Linux) and network devices (switches, routers, firewalls).
- Monitor system and network performance, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in Active Directory and other platforms.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
- Implement and maintain network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Configure and monitor LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, network diagrams, and procedures.
- Provide end-user support and training when necessary.
JOB VACANCY NOTICE-POSTING REQUEST:
As a trauma-informed Center, all staff are required to attend trauma-informed care training. Travel is required within the service area with some weekend responsibilities on an on-call basis.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications to be eligible for the position:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role with a good working knowledge of business networking including routers, switches, and firewalls as well as firewall management and network security best practices.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, CCNA, MCSA, or VMware.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud).
- Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation.
- Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, etc.).
- Must possess a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants who possess one or more of the following qualifications in addition to the minimum qualifications are preferred:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Network Security, Health Informatics and Business Information Technology.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, CCNA, MCSA, or VMware.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud).
- Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation.
- Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, etc.).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Skill in communicating with users having differing levels of experience with information technology.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Has the ability to assess advanced technology available and guide executive management in the functionality of such technology and its implementation.
- Demonstrate ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to work under conditions requiring physical stamina and ability to work in stressful environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have the ability to organize tasks.
- Skill in the use and support of personal computers; in the use of applicable programs and systems; and in troubleshooting information systems.
- Ability to operate information technology systems; to troubleshoot and repair equipment; to communicate effectively; to train others; and to supervise the work of others.
