ENA offers a flexible hybrid work schedule that allows employees the opportunity to work from the office two days a week and at home three days a week. We are headquartered in Schaumburg, Illinois.
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Accounting Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the accounting function for ENA and ENAF, which leads to a successful annual audit and accurate monthly financial statements used by management for decision making purposes. This includes the preparation of accounting and financial statements for ENA and ENA Foundation (ENAF), ensuring GAAP principals are being followed and managing AP and AR functions. This position also collaborates with Human Resources on payroll and benefit funding and compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides day to day leadership for the accounting function, ensuring accounting best practices and GAAP principals are followed.
- Leads the monthly close process to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting results used in decision making processes for both ENA and ENAF. Partners with all levels of the business to prepare variance analysis and trend analysis needed by management. Proactively identifies financial impacts for current year and future years.
- Assists the Controller with the annual audit completion process. Serves as a liaison with auditors and helps ensure all PBCs are completed, reviewed and submitted to the auditors timely.
- Leads the tax compliance functions of ENA and ENAF ensuring tax returns are timely followed and in compliance with the IRS and other governing agencies.
- Collaborates with Human Resources for payroll policy compliance and procedural guidance and ensures accuracy of execution and funding.
- Oversees the Accounts Payable processes of ENA and ENAF, providing guidance where necessary, ensuring that invoices and expense reports are paid timely and coded accurately for financial statement purposes.
- Leads the Accounts Receivable function including invoicing, cash receipts and collection functions ensuring all revenue and cash is posted timely for ENA and ENAF from the association management system (AMS) and checks received inhouse.
- Continuously seeks process improvements ensuring financing processing and information delivery is best in class meeting the organization's changing needs.
- Ensures ENA's Accounting & Financial Policies and Procedures Manuals are up-to-date.
- Empowers employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegates responsibility and expects accountability and regular feedback.
- Collaborates with ENA Human Resources for the recruiting, onboarding, retention, professional development and performance management of staff.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Accounting or equivalent,
- Extensive knowledge of accounting systems, accounting procedures and policies, financial management, and payroll.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial accounting with experience in payroll and accounts payable systems, preferably in a similar position with demonstrated skills and proven track record of success.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with spreadsheets, general ledger, and report writing software.
- Management experience with leadership qualities
Desired:
- CPA certification
- Experience with Dynamics GP and Adaptive Insights
- Not-for-Profit or Association experience

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This position is an exempt/salaried position. The targeted salary range is $100k - $115k annually. Compensation is determined based on a range of factors, including experience, education, certifications or specialized training, skill level and operational needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment. Requires ability to communicate verbally and in writing in an exchange of information; collect, compile and prepare work documents; set-up and maintain work files. Use of the computer, with repetitive motion, is approximately 90 %.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Majority of work is performed in a general office environment. Occasional travel may be required.
