About The Opportunity

We are experiencing explosive growth and looking to add hard working, motivated and skilled individuals to our highly dedicated teams within our large and growing geographic footprint. As a qualified Distribution Supervisor, you will supervise distribution CDL A/B drivers and load crew. You will also process company explosive orders and material orders, ensure efficient routes are selected and maintain required travel records in compliance with all appropriate DOT & ATF standards, process explosive and material orders within established customer and vendor timeframes, and expedite product delivery to assist with changing field demand. This role is required to be pro-active in solving scheduling conflicts, will set daily work activities and priorities for the load crew and monitor emulsion balances for ordering purposes, will exceed industry standards in the delivery of Customer Service, and will rely on the Operations Manager to provide guidance and assistance on complex issues and in determining optimal solutions.

That means that you will be expected to:

  • Supervise and schedule driver delivery assignments.

  • coordinate truck and driver assignments

  • establish trip directions and confirm arrival times to and from the job site

  • package driver directions, manifest and pick ticket

  • use Global Positioning System (GPS) to validate time and location of bulk vehicles, as needed.

  • Supervise and schedule the load crew.

  • coordinate loading assignments and priorities with load crew forman

  • monitor daily production levels and emulsion needs

  • ensure training requirements are completed and will audit for compliance

  • Enter explosive orders within Acumatica and schedule to meet customer expectations.

  • Review for accuracy and/or approve as required: driver and loader time sheets, driver logbooks, trip manifests, bin and trailer locations, delivery truck time tracking and schedules, mileage and fuel usage.
  • Enter and maintain Purchase Orders for material needs as well as vendor confirmations, all within the TimberLine system.
  • Manage, maintain and distribute the company's two week truck schedule for explosive deliveries.
  • Resolve customer requests, questions and complaints frequently conducting analysis to determine the best use of available resources. Will be guided by the Explosive Operating Policy, EOP.
  • Serve as liaison between the customer and various departments.
  • Positively influence customer satisfaction by resolving issues in a timely and competent manner.
  • Compile monthly performance metrics for distribution and load crew
  • Ensure routine maintenance of equipment / trucks and a clean and safe work environment.
  • Will hire, train and issue disciplinary action, with guidance from the Operations Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned

In order to join our team, here's what we will need from you:

  • 2-3 years of prior Customer Service experience or supervisory experience.
  • General industry knowledge preferred, not required.
  • Excellent time management skills that result in optimal productivity.
  • Good problem solving skills, written and oral communications skills.
  • Solid PC skills with thorough understanding of database and spreadsheet applications
  • Self-starter with solid organizational skills.
  • The ability to interact and work successfully with a wide variety of groups and individuals, always presenting a professional demeanor, and positively representing MD&B. This includes the ability to manage conflict, to achieve win-win solutions, and to assure that all problem resolutions represent the best interests of both the customer and the company as a whole.
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the position.
  • Ability to lift lbs.
  • Office work environment.
  • Out of town/state travel and overtime may be required.
  • Ability to supervise and evaluate performance of direct reports.

About You

You will have two to three years of customer service or supervisory experience, and general industry knowledge is highly preferred. You are adept at time management and problem solving. Your written and oral communication skills are exceptional, and you are a self-starter that is highly organized and professional. You excel at positively collaborating and engaging with all levels of team members and customers to effectively manage and resolve conflict. But honestly, this is not the only blueprint for success at MD&B.
