Position Summary

As a Crossbore Technician you will assist with the operation of advanced CCTV camera systems and related field equipment used to detect and prevent underground utility crossbores. This vital work helps ensure the safety of our communities and the integrity of essential infrastructure. You will work under the guidance of experienced field personnel and report directly to the Field Operations Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop specialized technical skills, and grow within a company that values safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Regional & Work Environment Considerations 

This role involves working along busy streets, highways, and residential roads, often in high-traffic areas. Crews must follow strict safety protocols and be aware of roadside hazards. Some sites may include embankments, uneven terrain, or wet conditions. Expect outdoor challenges and changing weather conditions. This means adapting to high heat, humidity, sudden storms, and cold temperatures.

Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities

  • Detect cross bored wastewater lines and collect field data through utilizing ESRI GPS software during inspections

  • Establish a safe work zone including positioning safety items such as traffic cones and signs

  • Prepare the CCTV Robot and equipment under the direction of the Operator while cleaning and maintaining equipment

  • Dispatch the tractor unit securely into the pipe utilizing a crane or hook

  • Mark locations on the job site with utility marking paint

Job Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to pass a thorough background check and pre-employment drug screen required as a condition of employment

  • Must be able and willing to walk 2 to 5 miles or more per day on various terrain and various weather conditions

  • Must be willing to work with sewer and wastewater utility lines 

  • Lift the 50+lbs. of equipment regularly throughout the day.  

  • Proficient using current technology such as a smartphone, tablet or, computer

Driver Qualifications:

Because all field personnel may be required to operate company or DOT-regulated vehicles at any time, maintaining driver eligibility is mandatory. A valid driver's license and obtaining a medical clearance to drive DOT-regulated vehicles (DOT Medical Certification) is considered an essential function of employment in field operations. Employees must obtain this medical certification within 90 days of hire and maintain it as a condition of continued employment. Failure to obtain or maintain driver eligibility or medical clearance may affect employment status and/or eligibility for certain job assignments, unless given a Human Resources accommodation.

Pay:

  • $20-23 per hour, depending on experience
