Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Phlebotomist/Floater to join our clinical team. This role involves performing blood collection, specimen processing, and providing exceptional patient care across various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong laboratory techniques, a solid understanding of physiology, and excellent patient service skills. As a floater, you will support multiple departments, ensuring seamless laboratory operations and patient interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients with blood specimen collection in a professional and friendly manner.
- Perform venipuncture (blood draws) for pediatric, geriatric, and adult patients.
- Verify patient demographic information and ensure that samples are labeled correctly.
- Process blood samples for laboratory testing, adhering to all established practices and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all procedures and patient information, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and privacy standards.
- Provide clear and compassionate explanations of procedures to patients to ensure comfort and reduce anxiety.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment, following all health and safety protocols.
- Travel to various locations, including patient service centers, doctors' offices, and other facilities, as needed.
- Work with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills when interacting with patients, clients, and team members.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three years of phlebotomy experience required (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections).
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training is preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience required.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Flexible schedule with availability for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime, as needed.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record (if applicable).
Pay: $ $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
