Tandoor Chef

Rosie's Everest Kitchen is seeking a passionate and experienced Tandoor & Curry Chef to join our kitchen team. We specialize in authentic Indian and Nepali cuisine, and we're looking for a chef who can bring bold flavors, creativity, and consistency to every dish. Tandoor Chef Duties:

• Prepare and cook items in the tandoor (clay oven), such as naan, roti, tandoori chicken, kebabs, and seafood.
• Marinate meats and vegetables using traditional spice blends and techniques.
• Monitor and control cooking temperatures and timings for consistent quality.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety around the tandoor station.
• Ensure proper portioning and presentation of tandoor items.

Curry Chef Duties:

• Prepare a wide variety of Indian curries (vegetarian and non-vegetarian) including North Indian and Nepalese specialties.
• Cook gravies and sauces from scratch using authentic recipes.
• Monitor food stock and work with kitchen management to ensure efficient inventory use.
• Adjust seasoning and spice levels according to customer preference and recipe.
• Ensure dishes meet the restaurant's quality and presentation standards.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen.
• Must be punctual, reliable, and able to work as part of a team.
• Food safety and hygiene knowledge/certification preferred.
