CDL Truck Driver

Job Summary
Devils River Trucking is seeking a qualified CDL Driver to provide hauling services for aggregates on various environmental projects in the Permian Basin of Texas and New Mexico. Experience with dump trucks and belly dumps is required. Candidates must be highly motivated, customer focused and work well in a team environment. Candidates must also have the ability to manage a heavy workload, travel to and from locations safely and be on-call as needed. Excellent written and verbal communication, client interaction and organizational skills is required.

Responsibilities
- Safely drive trucks to transport materials to and from specified destinations

• Perform trucking activities, which may include operation and transport of excavator/tractor/tiller/backhoe/dozer.
• Load and unload cargo
• Operate trucks with manual transmission
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Adhere to all safety regulations and traffic laws
• Maintain accurate driving logs

• Communicate with dispatch as needed

• Work with Safety Manager and Mechanic to procure supplies/equipment and to keep equipment running smoothly.

Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Truck Driver or relevant position
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL), Class A
- Ability to operate various types of trucks including flatbed, belly dump, and dump trucks
- Must be 21 years or older
- Strong understanding of load securement techniques
- Excellent driving record
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor
- Good communication skills, English preferred, and customer service-oriented attitude

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or GED.

• Experience in hauling with a belly dump and/or end dump truck required.
• Experience transporting heavy equipment is required. Experience with site remediation and field sampling techniques is a plus. Knowledge of federal and state DOT regulations preferred.

Other Skills and Requirements:

• Some heavy lifting required, including equipment lifting, and the ability to utilize a hand-held bucket type auger for sample collection.

• Work will be mainly in the field.

• Field work will primarily be in West Texas and will be primarily outdoors, exposed to varying weather conditions, and wearing FRC clothing.

• Ability to communicate in the English language and possess good verbal and written communication skills

• Possess basic math skills

• Ability to complete field tickets and enter hours worked to each job
