Are you an experienced and certified Forklift Operator seeking a stable role in a thriving logistics hub? We are looking for a skilled professional to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our distribution center. This role requires precision, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to operate various types of forklifts. You will play a crucial part in maintaining smooth operations, ensuring timely handling of inbound and outbound shipments, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our logistics network. Your expertise is vital to our operations.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, and unstack palletized goods.
- Load and unload trucks and containers efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Follow all Safety guidelines and traffic rules within the facility.
- Accurately pick and stage orders for shipment.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Ensure proper use of required PPE.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA certification).
- Proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Excellent knowledge of warehouse operations and safety procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to Safety.
- Familiarity with different types of forklifts and their operation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE, including safety shoes and vests.
- Experience with scanning equipment and Warehouse Management Systems is a plus.
