Join our thriving logistics operations in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as a certified Forklift Operator. This role is essential for the efficient movement of materials within our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, load, unload, and stack materials. Safety is our top priority, and adherence to all operating procedures and regulations is mandatory. The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift certification, a strong understanding of warehouse Safety protocols, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including significant Lifting. You will work collaboratively with our warehouse team to ensure accurate inventory management and timely order fulfillment. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to operational excellence are crucial.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, load, and unload materials.
- Transport materials from receiving to storage areas and from storage to shipping.
- Stack and arrange materials in designated locations, ensuring stability and safety.
- Conduct daily pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any issues.
- Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy by properly staging and organizing goods.
- Follow all Safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE.
- Coordinate with other warehouse personnel to ensure smooth workflow and logistics.
- Perform manual Lifting tasks as needed, often exceeding 40 pounds.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Ensure efficient material handling to support all logistics functions.
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain certifications and improve skills.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting and standing.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Understanding of general logistics principles.
