Our dynamic logistics team in New York City is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our fast-paced warehouse operations. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement and organization of goods within our facility. Your responsibilities will include receiving, unpacking, and stocking materials, as well as preparing orders for shipment. This position requires a strong commitment to safety protocols and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will be involved in various aspects of warehouse management, ensuring that inventory is accurately tracked and readily accessible. We value individuals who are proactive, detail-oriented, and possess a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a warehouse setting and a good understanding of material handling equipment. Attention to detail is paramount to ensure the accuracy of all movements and records.
Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading trucks safely and efficiently.
- Moving materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Inspecting materials for damage and reporting discrepancies.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhering to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assisting with inventory counts and record keeping.
- Supporting other warehouse functions as needed to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Demonstrating the ability to perform heavy Lifting as required by the role, often exceeding 50 pounds.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations in a demanding logistics environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including frequent Lifting, bending, and standing.
- Familiarity with basic warehouse equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and following all guidelines.
- Must be able to work flexible hours if required.
