You will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials, including loading and unloading shipments, operating material handling equipment, and organizing inventory. Accuracy and attention to detail are key as you ensure materials are in the right place at the right time. Safety is a top priority; you will be required to strictly follow all safety regulations and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position requires physical stamina, including the ability to perform significant lifting and handling of various materials. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Ensure the warehouse is kept clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Support shipping and receiving functions as needed.
- Participate in team efforts to meet operational targets.
- Perform tasks requiring regular lifting of materials up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a material handling or warehouse role.
- Certification to operate forklifts is a strong asset.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including frequent lifting, bending, and standing.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Understanding of basic logistics and inventory management.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
