Position Summary

Under direct supervision of the Facilities & Transportation Manager, performs daily transportation services for enrolled client families throughout Bernalillo, Sandoval, Valencia and Cibola Counties. Driving occurs in both rural and metropolitan areas including Town of Bernalillo, Albuquerque South Valley and Southeast locations. Assists with all kitchen related activities including acquisition of food items, use of kitchen tools, clean up, food storage, and safety. May support other efforts as needed.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or GED and minimum of three years related experience and/or training.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

  • Clear Criminal Records Clearance – required every 5 years
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification – required every 2 years
  • Defensive Driver Certificate – required if operating a PB&J vehicle
  • Van Rodeo – required of all drivers– attend at least once a year
  • Current Automobile Liability Insurance – required if transporting clients in personal vehicle
  • Valid NM Driver’s license– required if transporting clients in personal or agency vehicle
  • Clear MVD Driving record – required
  • Health & Safety Certification (PB&J will provide training)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age – required

 Essential Functions

  • Daily operates passenger vehicle(s) in a safe and efficient manner, observing driving rules and regulations. 
  • Maintains client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
  • Completes reports in prescribed manner including the following: accurate daily mileage, gas, repair and maintenance records as well as daily recording of passenger pickup
  • Conducts pre-trip inspections on vehicle, including proper child safety seat restraints
  • Weekly preventative maintenance inspections, to include checking oil level of vehicles
  • Operates radio for communication and emergency purposes regarding client pickup/drop-off status
  • Assists with all kitchen related activities including acquisition of food items, use of kitchen tools, clean up, food storage, and safety.
  • Additional duties as assigned

  • Entry level computer skills for use in email communications as well as time reporting database entry

  • Ability to exercise professional independent judgment in planning own work, formulating recommendations and making decisions. 

Physical Requirements

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the person in this position, in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit, walk, stand, stoop, kneel, squat, or crawl. Uses personal computer, telephones, copiers, printers and other office equipment. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
