'We are seeking a dedicated Staff Pharmacist specializing in compounding for our San Antonio, TX facility. This role is vital in ensuring the safe preparation and dispensing of customized medications, supporting our mission to provide personalized patient care across the nation.'
position summary
The Pharmacist is responsible for providing pharmacy services to patients to achieve related healthcare outcomes of the corresponding practitioners. Responsible for consulting and collaborating with patients, nurses, and physicians on the therapy of the patients and to confirm the correct medication and dosing. The pharmacist oversees the job of Pharmacy Technicians.
Essential functions:
* Perform and accurately document compounding procedures, quality assurance/quality control checks, and oversee and support the technicians.
* Efficient and knowledgeable of basic principles, theories, laws, policies, and procedures that pertain to compounding- specifically USP , , , other USP general chapters, and best compounding practices.
* Works collaboratively with the clinical team, product development, and compounding techs.
* Supervises the preparation of high-quality compounded medications (capsules, troches, creams, solutions, etc.) according to USP , and and other compounding rules and regulations in both ISO 5 environments as well as non-sterile hazardous rooms.
* Interpret, and supervise compound prescriptions that are properly prepared. Adheres to appropriate safety and quality assurance practices and OptioRx policies and procedures. Complies with state and federal laws.
* Represent the pharmacy in a professional and courteous manner in all job-related interactions.
* Ensure that pharmaceuticals are accurately dispensed in accordance with pharmacy protocols and physician orders.
* Maintain positive relationships with customers and health care providers.
* Resolve pharmacy patient concerns and complaints.
* Oversee pharmacy operations through each respective pharmacy team member, ensuring compliance with State and Federal laws, as well as conformity with OptioRx Policies and Procedures.
* Conduct patient profile monitoring as necessary.
* Report product incidents as required in accordance with pharmacy policy.
* Participate in-service education programs provided by the pharmacy.
* Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
* Education and/or Training:
* Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree Pharmacy
* Professional Experience:
* 3 years of proven success in providing the highest level of pharmaceutical customer service/patient care.
* Good computer skills and the ability to use business support software
* Licenses/Certifications:
* Valid and active pharmacist license in the State of Texas.
* Multiple licensures preferred.
* Specialized Skills:
* Maintains pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops: reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks
* Oversee compounding procedures, quality assurance/control checks and preparation of compounded medications
* Evaluate and monitor drug therapy relative to the specific needs of the patients in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals
* Proven success in a fast-paced environment, working with a team and individually
* Exceptional oral and written communication skills, and presentation ability
* Ability to organize and plan the activities of subordinates, and to delegate appropriately
* Technical Skills:
* High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PPT), Outlook & Internet applications
* Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal, and experience with communication at an executive level, small to midsize groups
* Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, and problem-solving.
Successfully pass background check prior to employment

Pay: $135,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
