JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for the successful direction of all activities in the Maintenance Department while ensuring the protection of life, assets, and property at the property. Ensures all general maintenance and repair functions are completed within approved guidelines and as directed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Regularly inspects the premises, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate individual or entity, for proper resolution.
Held accountable, to a high degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
Controls and maintains surplus spare parts inventory, and ensures proper functioning of all maintenance equipment, coordinating outside repairs and maintenance as necessary.
Ensures the quality of operations in the maintenance department.
Creates, develops and implements an effective plan of departmental policies and procedures, maintaining consistency with established company guidelines and controls.
Directs the flow of maintenance reports to the proper individuals within the company, always maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
Communicates with all department heads, to ensure problems are effectively and promptly resolved.
Responsible for all general maintenance and repair of minor problems throughout the Casino complex as directed by Facilities Manager.
Conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment as assigned.
Supports Maintenance Technicians as needed.
Ensure adherence to all OSHA regulations and internal safety policies and procedures.
Operates company vehicles as required.
Maintaining an outstanding example of and a credit to CrossWinds Casino.
Promotes positive customer relations.
Maintains the highest level of confidentiality
Initiates and maintains communication with subordinates, employees, management, and other departments in facilitating the flow of information throughout the property.
Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Operate as an emergency Pull/Count Team member as required.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Educational/Experience: High School Diploma or GED and 2-4 years of maintenance work experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
Ability to work as directed by your supervisor, which may result in being scheduled anytime during a 24 hour period, 365 days a year.
Ability to interpret documents such as blue prints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure and technical manuals.
Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to read, write and understand English.
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business demands.
Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, management, and guests.
Must have a friendly, outgoing personality.
Maintain a professional demeanor in a high stress environment.
Maintains an even temper and is friendly and positive with others, demonstrates good judgment, has positive interactions with co-workers and customers, and treats others with respect and dignity.
Must be able to push and lift weight up to 50lbs.
Occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must be able to work in areas containing high noise levels, secondary smoke and blinking lights.
LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Speak and communicate effectively with individuals and before groups of people.
Read, write, understand, and verbally communicate using appropriate English standards of language.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts and perform mathematical functions applicable to business needs.
LICENSING
Must be able to qualify for any and all licenses or permits required by local, State, Federal and/or Wyandotte Nation law.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Ability to stand and walk for entirety of shift as required to conduct normal assigned duties.
Occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Regularly squatting or bending, and lifting, pushing, pulling, and/or moving up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to work in outside conditions and hot or cold environments for periods of time.
Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry 50lbs in emergency situations.
Ability to function in a smoking environment.
Employee smoking is restricted to outside location and during break times.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise levels in the work environment are constant.
Ascend/descend flights of stairs to access office and break areas throughout work day.
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for entirety of shift as required to conduct normal assigned duties.
Efficiently function in an environment with blinking/blinding lights.
