These systems are critical to the project's process plant and metallurgical operations. This position manages all project phases—from concept through commissioning—within an EPCM framework, ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery and strict adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards in a remote, complex mining environment.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Manage the EPCM contractor to ensure seamless integration with power, process, and infrastructure work streams.
  • Oversee design, procurement, fabrication, and construction of POX autoclaves, O2 plant, and utility systems.
  • Coordinate with internal and external engineering teams to ensure compliance with metallurgical and operational requirements.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and risk management plans following established governance frameworks.
  • Conduct constructability reviews and ensure safe, efficient execution for all POX and O2 installations.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee commissioning planning and handover to operations, aligning with business readiness goals.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, maintaining the highest standards of technical quality and safety.
  • Prepare regular progress reports, financial summaries, and status updates for project leadership and stakeholders.
  • Promote collaboration among engineering, procurement, and construction teams to maintain integration and accountability.
  • Build and maintain relationships with EPCM partners, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and project team members.
  • Travel as required to the Yukon–Kuskokwim region, Anchorage, and the project site.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, or Mining (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum 15 years of project management experience in mining or metallurgical processing environments.
  • Proven expertise with Pressure Oxidation (POX) and Air Separation (O2) systems.
  • Experience managing large-scale EPCM contracts from design through commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of metallurgical processes, process control, and integrated systems.
  • Proficiency with project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project) and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, and permitting regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Professional Engineering license (P.E. or P.Eng.) and/or PMP certification preferred.
  • Experience in cold-climate or remote logistics environments is highly desirable.
