Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher Assistant to support classroom teachers and foster a positive learning environment for young children. This role involves working closely with students, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring a safe and engaging educational experience. Ideal candidates will have a passion for early childhood education, team player, energetic personality, and ready to motivate others to do the same. The Teacher Assistant plays a vital role in supporting children's developmental milestones and creating an inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities aligned with curriculum standards
- Support children's social, emotional, and behavioral development through positive guidance and behavior management techniques
- Supervise children during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and nap times to ensure safety and engagement
- Provide individualized attention to children with special needs or disabilities, including those requiring special education accommodations
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment by following health and safety protocols
- Support children's physical needs through diapering, feeding, or assisting with mobility as required (including infant and toddler care)
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to monitor student progress and communicate any concerns or observations
- Assist with classroom management strategies to promote respectful behavior and active participation
Skills
- Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, or early childhood education environments
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-appropriate activities
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies
- First aid certification is preferred; ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special education needs is a plus
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and caregivers
- Compassionate caregiving skills for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with diverse needs
- Ability to create an inclusive environment that supports the social-emotional growth of all students
- Patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for fostering a nurturing learning space
