Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager will lead strategic efforts to expand our market presence, develop client relationships, and drive revenue growth. This high-impact role requires an experienced and motivated individual with a deep understanding of the construction industry and a proven track record of building successful partnerships.

Strategic Planning

  • Develop and implement short- and long-term business development strategies aligned with company growth goals.
  • Identify new market opportunities, industry trends, and potential client segments.
  • Develop and execute on a plan for marketing, including but not limited to website, collateral, social media, advertising, and professional networking group involvement (Chambers of Commerce, BBB, BOMA, WCREW, WID, NAWIC, etc).

Client Management Relationship

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, architects, brokers, and other industry stakeholders.
  • Act as the face of the company at networking events, conferences, trade shows, and industry functions.

Pipeline Lead Generation

  • Identify and qualify new leads through market research, networking, and industry intelligence.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of project opportunities.
  • Utilize CRM system to document and track business development and sales activities
  • Consider, understand, and track return on investment for marketing and business development activity and spending.

Proposal Pursuit Oversight

  • Lead the pursuit process including, but not limited to: RFP/RFQ responses, scope walks, interviews, and presentations.
  • Work closely with Project Management team estimating opportunities
  • Responsible for writing, negotiating, and gaining approval of contracts
  • Developed marketing plans to position the firm for project wins.

Collaboration and Reporting

  • Collaborate with executive leadership on company growth strategies and market positioning.
  • Prepare regular reports on business development activities, goals, and forecasts.

Work Environment/Travel:

  • The responsibilities of this position involve physical activities including standing, lifting (up to 50 pounds unassisted), bending, stooping, pushing, pulling and twisting.
  • This position requires travel as needed.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in business development and/or marketing for commercial construction projects.
  • B.S. degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Real Estate, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Strong network within the construction, commercial real estate, and/or development sectors
  • Proven track record of successful deal sourcing and relationship building, and closing deals, and increasing revenue.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, with no more than two moving violations or a record of a DUI within the past 7 years.
