Duties

• Oversee daily food service operations, ensuring all meals are prepared and served according to established standards
• Coordinate menu planning in collaboration with culinary staff, incorporating dietary needs and preferences
• Supervise food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining consistency, presentation, and quality
• Manage food handling procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations and sanitation standards
• Support dietary department activities by assisting with meal assembly, portion control, and food distribution
• Ensure proper knife skills are applied during food prep to maximize efficiency and safety
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils in accordance with health guidelines
• Assist with catering events or special meal services as needed, providing excellent customer service during serving times
• Monitor inventory levels of food supplies, placing orders to prevent shortages while minimizing waste
• Train and mentor staff on food safety practices, proper food handling, and service techniques
• Uphold a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and enthusiasm

Requirements

• Proven experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles within healthcare or hospitality settings
• Strong background in menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
• Experience working in fine dining or restaurant environments is highly desirable
• Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures
• Skilled in culinary techniques including knife skills and meal preparation methods
• Familiarity with catering services and large-scale meal distribution processes
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and ensure smooth service flow
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively
• Availability to work Sundays consistently as part of the weekly schedule
• Food handlers or managers certificate
