Duties
- Oversee daily food service operations, ensuring all meals are prepared and served according to established standards
- Coordinate menu planning in collaboration with culinary staff, incorporating dietary needs and preferences
- Supervise food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining consistency, presentation, and quality
- Manage food handling procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations and sanitation standards
- Support dietary department activities by assisting with meal assembly, portion control, and food distribution
- Ensure proper knife skills are applied during food prep to maximize efficiency and safety
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils in accordance with health guidelines
- Assist with catering events or special meal services as needed, providing excellent customer service during serving times
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies, placing orders to prevent shortages while minimizing waste
- Train and mentor staff on food safety practices, proper food handling, and service techniques
- Uphold a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and enthusiasm
Requirements
- Proven experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles within healthcare or hospitality settings
- Strong background in menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
- Experience working in fine dining or restaurant environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures
- Skilled in culinary techniques including knife skills and meal preparation methods
- Familiarity with catering services and large-scale meal distribution processes
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and ensure smooth service flow
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively
- Availability to work Sundays consistently as part of the weekly schedule
- Food handlers or managers certificate
