We are seeking a Construction Project Manager (PM) to manage multiple ADU and residential remodeling projects from contract handoff through completion.
This role requires strong multitasking, solid field judgment, and excellent coordination skills. The PM acts as a liaison between the Operations Manager, construction crews, subcontractors, and the Accounting Department, ensuring projects progress on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with California building codes.
DOTZ uses Buildertrend as its project management ERP system. Familiarity with Buildertrend is a strong plus.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management & Field Coordination
- Manage multiple ADU and residential remodeling projects simultaneously
- Coordinate daily activities between:
- Operations Manager
- Construction crews and subcontractors
- Maintain jobsite presence as required to ensure quality, progress, and safety
- Proactively resolve field issues to avoid delays
Schedule & Multitasking
- Create and maintain project schedules
- Track milestones and trade sequencing
- Adjust schedules dynamically based on inspections, material availability, and site conditions
- Demonstrate strong multitasking and prioritization skills across active projects
Plans, Codes & Compliance
- Read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and Title 24 plans
- Ensure construction complies with:
- California Residential Code (CRC)
- California Building Code (CBC)
- Local city amendments
- Coordinate city inspections and address correction notices
Subcontractor & Trade Coordination
- Coordinate framing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drywall, roofing, and finish trades
- Ensure subcontractors perform work per approved plans and scope
- Review workmanship and sequencing between trades
Accounting & Financial Coordination (AP / AR)
- Act as the primary project liaison with the Accounting Department
- Coordinate for:
- Subcontractor invoices and approvals (AP)
- Client progress billing and change orders (AR)
- Ensure receipts, invoices, and supporting documentation are submitted timely
- Assist in resolving billing discrepancies
Client Communication
- Provide regular project updates
- Manage expectations professionally regarding schedule, scope, and progress
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years experience managing ADU and residential remodeling projects
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Fluent in reading and interpreting construction plans
- Solid understanding of California residential building codes
- Experience coordinating multiple construction trades
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Buildertrend (strong plus)
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred
- Active California General Contractor (GC) license or engineering background (plus)
