Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager - Restaurant to lead our team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food service operations, and a passion for hospitality management. This role involves overseeing daily restaurant functions, managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. The General Manager will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and fostering a positive work environment in a fast-paced casual dining or quick service setting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, including food preparation, service quality, and customer experience
- Manage staff recruitment, training, development, and performance evaluations to ensure a motivated and efficient team
- Implement and monitor inventory control procedures to minimize waste and optimize stock levels
- Supervise kitchen management, ensuring adherence to food safety standards and proper food handling practices
- Oversee POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate cash handling and sales tracking
- Coordinate shift management to ensure smooth daily operations during peak hours
- Maintain compliance with health regulations and safety standards across all departments
- Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate goals, policies, and updates
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly to uphold the restaurant's reputation
- Assist in budgeting, cost control, and financial planning to meet operational targets
- Lead efforts in training & development initiatives to enhance team skills and service quality
- Support catering, banquet events, or bar operations as needed
Experience
- Proven management experience within the food industry, preferably in quick service & fast food restaurants or casual dining establishments
- Extensive background in food service management, including kitchen management and hospitality management
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with team management, interviewing, and staff training & development
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS is highly desirable
- Experience with inventory control, budgeting, food safety standards, and food production processes
- Background in culinary arts or fine dining experience is a plus but not mandatory
- Prior roles may include assistant manager experience or restaurant management positions in similar settings
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a positive work environment
