Line Cook/Prep Cook

Rum Bay Restaurant at Palm Island Resort is seeking to fill all positions for work in our very popular and busy kitchen. Line Cooks, Prep Cooks, and Dishwashers are invited to apply for immediate openings in our island paradise location. The Line Cook is a key player in ensuring we are serving the best quality food to our guests.

As a Line Cook, Prep Cook or Dishwasher, He or she must be able to work flexible hours and will be required to stand for long periods, bend, twist, use hands and arms continuously, lift heavy trays, pans and memorize menus. Maintaining a clean, neat and tidy work area is a must. Full time employees are offered exceptional benefits including health insurance and PTO among other employee perks.

Job Tasks (Additional Responsibilities)

• Prepares all required items.
• Prep for service for the next shift
• Prepares items that are ordered in accordance with established portions and presentation standards.
• Notifies sous chef of expected shortages.
• Ensures that assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitary.
• Assists the sous chef in maintaining security and safety in the kitchen.
• Maintains neat professional appearance and observes personal cleanliness rules at all times.
• Sets-up, maintains and breaks down prep cook station.
• Requisitions items needed to produce menu items.
• Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations.
• Covers, dates and neatly stores all leftover products that are re-usable.
• Maintains the highest sanitary standards.
• Coordinates and times orders with other kitchen operations.
• Makes recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the line prep area and equipment.
• Assists with other duties as assigned by sous chef.
• All Line Cooks, Prep Cooks and Dishwashers will work together as a team.

Education/Experience: One year experience working in a professional kitchen and basic knowledge of standard equipment, products, and knife skills are fundamental skills of a Line Cook, Prep Cook
