Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Meat Processing Plant Manager to oversee daily operations at our small, family owned meat processing facility. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with food safety standards, maintain high-quality production, and lead a team dedicated to excellence in meat processing. This leadership role requires a strong understanding of HACCP Compliance, food safety regulations, and team management within a meat processing environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of plant operations, including production, sanitation, and safety protocols
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, HACCP, and other relevant food safety and sanitation standards
- Manage staff and production scheduling
- Implement and monitor sanitation procedures to uphold food safety and quality standards
- Coordinate meat cutting, packaging, and processing activities to meet production and delivery targets
- Maintain accurate documentation related to food safety audits and regulatory inspections
- Collaborate with ownership to identify areas for process improvement
- Ensure mechanical equipment is properly cleaned, sanitized, and maintained and functioning efficiently
Requirements
- Proven experience in food processing plant management or manufacturing leadership within the food industry
- Strong knowledge of sanitation practices, HACCP standards, and food safety protocols
- Skilled in meat cutting, knife skills, and understanding of meat processing procedures
- Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing equipment used in food production facilities
- Familiarity with packaging processes and quality control measures in a food processing environment
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and foster a safety-conscious work culture
- Background in food safety management systems and regulatory compliance within the meat industry
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with staff, suppliers, and regulatory agencies
Pay: $ $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 – 45.0 per week
