A leading mechanical construction firm is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead complex mechanical projects from pre-construction through close-out. This organization delivers large-scale HVAC, piping, plumbing, power piping, industrial equipment, and ventilation systems across commercial and industrial environments nationwide.

This role is ideal for a hands-on project leader who thrives in fast-paced construction environments and enjoys owning projects end-to-end while mentoring and developing other project managers.

Role Overview

The Senior Project Manager will oversee multiple mechanical construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance. You will serve as a key liaison between clients, internal engineering teams, field leadership, and subcontractors while driving successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex mechanical construction projects, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and within scope
  • Enforce jobsite safety standards and procedures, including safety plans, audits, and pre-task planning
  • Coordinate with engineering and design teams on permit drawings, progress drawings, RFIs, and record drawings
  • Ensure materials, installation methods, and workmanship align with approved submittals and specifications
  • Coach, mentor, and support Project Managers and project teams
  • Manage subcontractors, including scope development, contracts, schedules, and change management
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules across all contracted scopes
  • Oversee project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and reporting
  • Build strong relationships with clients, general contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Communicate effectively with field teams, fabrication shops, warehouse personnel, safety teams, and service groups

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience in mechanical construction (HVAC, piping, plumbing)
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent industry experience
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction methods, and quality standards
  • Experience with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk, P6, Viewpoint, Microsoft Office)
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
