Über

Purpose:

The Handyperson/Facilities Coordinator oversees the maintenance and care of the physical campus of St. Mark's Presbyterian Church (indoor and outdoor). This may involve performing general maintenance and clean up as well as the needed repair or replacing items such as electrical fixtures, faucets or other plumbing, irrigation, door knobs, interior and exterior painting, etc as needed. They will be a non-voting member of our Building Admin team to help plan and prepare for overall maitnenance or our church campus.

Responsibilities

  • Close the Sanctuary and Church Campus, and set up for other events scheduled for Sundays.
  • Cleanup of exterior of church property.
  • Identifies and arranges, or performs, routine maintenance and repairs for the interior and exterior of the property.
  • Coordinates with the Church Administrator regarding maintenance and repairs of church facilities and grounds.
  • Identify and report the need for any majr repairs.
  • Maintain a maintenance schedule and project & associated timeline list.
  • Oversees and evaluates the work of all vendors related to the physical campus.
  • Maintains adequate supplies.
  • Responsible for event setups as needed.
  • Carries out minor maintenance, repairs, and cleaning as necessary.
  • Minor landscape responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Is a non-voting member of the Administration Team.

Vacation and Sick Leave:

  • Entitled to 2 weeks paid vacation annually, and will coordinate his/her absence with the Head of Staff.
  • Handyperson/Facilities Coordinator will accrue 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to 20 hours of earned paid sick leave per year.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Previous experience with general maintenance and repairs.
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic handyman skills
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently and with a team, and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to contribute to positive working environment in a team-based setting that supports the congregation's mission.

Special Requirements:

  • Must be available for consistent Sunday responsibilities
  • Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a fingerprint card.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12.0 – 15.0 per week
