Veterinary Assistant and Technician

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Veterinary Assistant / Vet Tech–Assistant to join our team.
Being a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) and having experience with Avimark is a strong plus.

Duties

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, treatments, surgeries
• Handle animal restraint safely and effectively during exams, diagnostics, and procedures to ensure the safety of both animals and staff.
• Administer medications and vaccinations accurately according to veterinary instructions while monitoring patient responses.
• Provide exceptional pet care by feeding, grooming, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring animal behavior for signs of distress or illness.
• Perform laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic procedures including sample collection and processing to aid in accurate diagnosis.
• Assist with specialized procedures such as animal catheterization, laboratory testing

Skills

• Prior veterinary experience preferred
• RVT certification and Avimark knowledge are a plus
• Anesthesia monitoring & Surgical preparation
• Strong teamwork and communication
• Ability to lift 40+ lbs
• Reliable, organized, and compassionate

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $ $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
