Research Support Specialist

Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in biology or a related field. Research experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience performing routine molecular biology procedures, including but not limited to PCR, cell culture, and sterile isolation of cells from murine or human samples. Experience in maintaining transgenic mouse lines including blood collection, ear tagging, and tail clipping. Experience in laboratory management, such as ordering supplies, preparing reagents, and maintain lab organization.

Brief Description of Duties:
We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate candidate to work in hematology, cardiology, and immunology research. For more details, see our lab website:

This position will provide unique training experience in both in vitro and in vivo assay systems to study normal and neoplastic hematopoiesis, cardiovascular diseases, and immune modulation. There will also be opportunities for career development training and mentorship to help the candidate progress to a career in biomedical sciences.

Duties:

  • Perform cell culture studies, DNA and RNA purification, PCR, western blotting, flow cytometry and data analysis.
  • Manage transgenic mice colonies.
  • Assist with lab organization, order lab supplies and maintain supply inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned.
