Due to continued exponential growth, Fiberlay is currently looking to expand its close-knit family at our Sarasota location. We are interested in finding a logical, efficient, orderly, and organized individual who can add immediate value to our already impressive and diverse staff.

Color Specialist Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work on assigned tasks with consistent speed and accuracy
  • Follow precise color matching software and procedures
  • Carry out all assigned duties including but not limited to product formulation, filling and other manufacturing responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner that also complies with State Regulations, OSHA regulations, and all applicable laboratory procedures.
  • Follows the operating procedures for formulation and ensures the product consistency.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment. Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on associated equipment as required.
  • Ensure that production requirements and standards are met consistently
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy involving all product tracking, product security, and product movement procedures.
  • Make every effort to increase productivity and efficiency without compromising quality
  • performs weighting raw materials, mixing/blending process, preparation of daily product batches
  • recordkeeping of formulation results
  • daily laboratory maintenance
  • cleaning/sanitation of the formulation area
  • Operate machinery correctly and maintain it with care
  • Report any machinery issues to management
  • Work cooperatively with the Promotions team to meet quotas and goals
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management
  • Perform in-process and post-process quality assurance sampling, testing, and visual inspections to ensure all product meets or exceeds expectations; such quality assurance work shall include, but not limited to:
  • Record and monitor process conditions to ensure compliance to standard operating procedures
  • Proper weighing, data recording, and batch tracking throughout process
  • Execute tests on required analytical equipment
  • Monitor and manage laboratory and processing equipment supplies and inventory
  • Follow all written and verbal instructions
  • Attend all safety and production trainings
  • Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude

Color Specialist's Qualifications/Skills:

  • Capable of reading and understanding production documents and safety manuals
  • Basic math, reading, and writing skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Willingness to comply with all safety guidelines at all times
  • Physically capable of manual labor that includes lifting, bending, and reaching
  • Able to operate large industrial machinery
  • Good documentation practices
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to lift 70 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Able to work 8-hour shifts standing
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • The ideal candidate will have at least one (1) to three (3) years of experience in manufacturing or laboratory environment with a focus on ensuring product safety and quality.
  • Forklift Certification within 90 days of job entry
  • Hazmat Certification within 90 days of job entry date
  • Reliable form of transportation
  • Driver's license
  • Ability to pass a drug test

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $19.66 per hour
