Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing therapeutic interventions to help patients achieve their maximum potential in daily living and working activities. This role requires a strong understanding of various patient needs, including those in inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, and acute care environments. The Occupational Therapist will work closely with patients of all ages, including geriatrics to promote their overall health and well-being.
Duties
- A Sensory Integration Occupational Therapist (OT) for adults typically has the following responsibilities:
- Assessment and Intervention: Provide occupational therapy assessments and interventions focusing on sensory integration, tailored to individual needs.
- Develop Treatment Plans: Create and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluations of sensory processing abilities.
- Implement Interventions: Use sensory-based interventions and measure their effectiveness, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with Professionals: Work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support.
- Document Progress: Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary, ensuring effective communication with families and caregivers.
These roles require a deep understanding of sensory integration theory and practice, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Requirements
- A degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience in inpatient settings or skilled nursing facilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of geriatric care practices.
- Familiarity with speech therapy techniques is beneficial but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to manage multiple cases effectively while providing high-quality care.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in occupational therapy practices.
