Essential Duties:
- Plan, direct, and maintain the warehousing/ distribution/ storage of materials, supplies, furniture, textbooks, and equipment for use in school system facilities:
- Receive and identify items shipped to distribution center facility.
- Verify accuracy of shipments against purchase orders to ensure items received are as specified, and in the correct amount ordered.
- Unpack items received, inspect for damage or defects, and record any discrepancies or damages.
- Coordinate with suppliers the return of damaged merchandise or incorrect shipments.
- Keep an up-to-date inventory of all items located and stored in the distribution center facilities.
- Manage the distribution of materials, supplies, furniture, textbooks, and equipment to school system facilities:
- Receive purchase orders and/ or work orders to issue items from inventory and maintain a history file of all items issued.
- Withdraw items from inventory and fill purchase orders and work orders.
- Supervise the loading of materials into delivery van and instruct driver as to the delivery route.
- Manage the third-party custodial contractor:
- Verify contractor's compliance with the terms of the contract.
- Perform periodic inspections of all school system facilities to ensure quality and performance.
- Review and maintain daily and monthly inspection records.
- Review and maintain daily and monthly manpower levels.
- Maintain security at distribution center facility and of distribution center vehicles.
- Supervise, schedule, and maintain an inter-county courier mail service for all school system facilities.
- Train distribution center personnel in inventory management and record keeping.
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned distribution center personnel.
- Monitor inventory levels, set reorder points and place reorders as necessary. Inventory items periodically to verify that in-stock quantities match quantities in the computer.
- Follow-up with suppliers on all outstanding orders.
- Coordinate the pickup, storage, and disposal of surplus assets from school system facilities.
- Assist Executive Director with planning, set-up, and advertisement of surplus items being sold at auction.
- Train distribution center personnel in inventory management and record keeping.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE), required. Bachelor's degree, preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of applicable, verifiable experience in a related field, or eight years of applicable, verifiable experience with an associate's degree (2 years) in a related field.
- Must have a valid State of Georgia driver's license.
- Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
- Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
- Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
- Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
- Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting. Ability to climb, stoop, crouch, and crawl.
- Noise level of work environment is moderate to loud, and requires exposure to inclement weather conditions, dust, dirt, and confined spaces.
- Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds, and up to 100 pounds, infrequently.
- Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
