Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to provide primary repair and equipment/process project execution throughout the plant. Ensure that quality, safety, performance, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met. Support and encourage continuous improvement.
Areas of Responsibility / Tasks
- General Policy
- Ensure all equipment, building and plant operations are SAFE and in good working condition.
- Plan, organize and execute tasks and/or repairs.
- Implement engineering changes to equipment as necessary.
- Responsible for planning, coordinating, and execution of installations of new and existing equipment.
- Work with Contractors, Vendors, OEM Suppliers and Machine Shops as necessary.
- Coordinate parts orders as needed for repairs and projects.
- Ensure schedule and delivery of parts and equipment are communicated as needed to eliminate down time.
- Execute planned downtime routine activities such as grinder blade changes or extruder screw changes.
- Perform 'heavy' repair tasks with a team such as large bearing changes or extruder gearbox changes.
- Track performance data points for equipment as needed. Demonstrate skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematic diagrams and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks and projects on production equipment.
- Implement capital expenditure projects on-time, on-budget, right the first time and safely.
- Maintain tools and consumables in good working condition and well organized.
- Follow all Quality, Safety, and Environmental Procedures.
- Uphold the Blue Polymer Code of Conduct standards.
- Support Continuous Improvement efforts as needed.
- Ensure all work is performed to standards and documented within the CMMS system.
- Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager or requested by the Management Team.
Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications
- Education:
- Must have High School diploma or of equivalent value.
- Must have completed vocational school Industrial Maintenance program or have two years (minimum) work experience in the field of Industrial Maintenance.
- Experience:
- Ability to operate a fork truck and articulate boom.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
- Ability to read, speak and write English efficiently preferred.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Detail oriented and ability to prioritize.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Preferred if skilled in Microsoft Excel and Word.

To perform this role successfully, an individual must have experience achieving desired result(s) in their areas of responsibility. - Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, with/or without the use of a private office.
- Must be comfortable working in a non-climate controlled environment.
- Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.
- Some projects or repairs may require evening or weekend work to accommodate business needs.
- All injuries regardless of severity must be reported to your Supervisor/HR immediately.
