Job mission

An important part of the company's future growth is providing our customers with the best service. To do this, we need knowledgeable, customer centric, and reliable technicians who will help customers solve their problems. This position will allow you the opportunity to handle both service requests from existing customers as well as complete new installations of our capital equipment systems while getting to visit facilities of customers throughout all industries. Key responsibilities

· Perform necessary service, preventative maintenance, repairs, replacements, installations, or re-building of components to restore equipment to safe and proper operation.

· Build positive professional relationships with clients, contractors and associates.

· Assists other Territories Technicians in the installation of new systems on large projects. (Territories include TX, OK, AR, LA, MS, TN, AL, GA, FL, SC, NC, VA & WV).

· Keep track of item inventory in company vehicle and order any necessary items when planning for upcoming projects.

· Confirm that the packing lists include all required components.

· Maintain an organized and clean working area.

· Other duties may be required and assigned

In this role you are required to act accordingly to the Piab Code of Conduct and know and follow the Piab values, mission and routines. This role requires travel to both Piab and external parties' global destinations when applicable.

Key interfaces

The Service and Installation Technician reports to the After Market Sales and Service Manager. You would work closely with the Senior and Regional Sales Managers located throughout the South, Southeast & Northeast territories for details on upcoming projects and any service-related questions

Skills and abilities

· Excellent English-skills – verbal and written.

· Must have valid driver's license.

· Ability to read a tape measure, use hand tools and most power tools.

· Must be able to read blueprints and schematic diagrams to identify and install new crane systems.

· Ability to work independently at times and proceed with objectives without supervision.

Preferred competencies

· Forklift Certified

Experience and educational background

· High School Diploma/ GED.

· 2+ years in a construction related industry.

· Industry experience is preferred but must be mechanically and technically inclined.

· Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures with the construction field.

· Can Operate Forklifts, Scissor Lifts & Pallet Riders.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

· Must be able to walk and stand on level/or Inclined surfaces for certain periods through the day.

· Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands

· Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.

· Physical Demands: Employee is occasionally required to lift 75 lbs.
